It seems even “Devas” need a little help...
In case you haven’t heard, or there is currently a class-action lawsuit happening against a popular brand name line of hair products called DevaCurl.
These products are aimed towards girls with curly hair, as they claim their products help curls “look and feel healthy, conditioned, soft, defined, shiny, and frizz-free.”
Unfortunately, numerous girls have shared horror stories of "scalp irritation, excessive shedding, hair loss, thinning, breakage and/or balding during normal use," per the Manhattan Federal court suit.
In fact, a hairdresser even claimed that the hair cuticle had been fried, something you would expect to see with an incorrect bleach application.
We’re not here to put anyone down, but again, this type of story solidifies the importance of using clean, natural ingredients, especially on your vulnerable scalp.
A healthy scalp is key to a head full of bouncy, luscious curls, so we thought we’d share a few of our top, all natural scalp boosting tips!

Use warm water and end with a cool rinse
Warm water is essential when shampooing to ensure that you are able to remove all dirt and excess oils, however don’t turn the heat up too much.
Hot water can irritate and damage the scalp, the last thing you want to do for healthy, happy hair!
Ending your rinse with a shot of cold water helps to seal the hair cuticle so your hair looks and feels smoother with a healthy shine.
Try a gentle oil massage
What’s better for boosting blood flow in the scalp than a relaxing massage?
